Day 44 - Human Machine Interaction

By Raj Bariya

What I Learned

Today, I learned about the fascinating field of human-machine interaction through a guest speaker Dr. Crawdford session. The speaker introduced us to cutting-edge technologies where humans can control machines using biological signals like brainwaves and electrical signals from the hand. This gave me a deeper understanding of how neural signals and muscle activity can be harnessed for machine control, which has major implications in areas like prosthetics, robotics, and accessibility technology.

Blockers

There were no significant blockers today. We were able to transition smoothly from the speaker session to our research work.

Reflection

Today was a really engaging and inspiring day. Getting hands-on experience with a brainwave-controlled drone and a hand-controlled robot made the concepts of human-machine interaction much more tangible and exciting. It was fascinating to see how technology can interpret and respond to human input in real time. After the session, we continued making progress on our research paper. I feel more confident about the direction we’re heading in, and today’s experience added a lot of context and motivation to our work.
